I decided to make my lawn alittle bigger, so I put the brush hog on the '56 Farmall 300 and did some mowing. Will keep after it with the lawn tractor and hopefully it'll start to lok like a lawn someday. ; )

  • wat year is the tractor?

  • @loneranger1171 It's a 1956.

  • How do you like that Howse mower? How has it held up?

  • @231MasseyFerguson I don't have alot of experience with these type mowers, only my grandfathers homemade one, and this one, so.................

It has done the job of mowing, for me, for about 10 years. It has hit rocks, sustained some dents from the inside due to this, and yet still does the job. In my inexperieced opinion, it's housing could've been made of thicker metal, but the blade and gearbox have held up to any abuse I've given it, so far.

  • the little mowers are all 540, it does not matter if it has a slip clutch or a shear pin, both have there advantages, there are three late model house 10 footers within 5 miles of me that have been fenced rowed becaused the gear boxs and replaced with woods mowers, the house was cheaper at the start but more expensive in the long run the gera boxes on the 10 footers will not hold up to a woods.

the small units like the one above have a stamped body.

  • howse bush hogs are all right for light work and small tractors but do not waste your money on the larger ones the gear boxes will not hold up

  • @brian93ist

Nice, I beat the shit out of mine too, It's rusty and there is not paint, but cuts like a charm.

  • @norfolkdash9 my friend has owned almost every kind made he has a tn45 he brush hogs fields for 30 dollars and hour and gives them lots of abuse his gets used every day i have never seen him have a real brush hog a howse or some off brand they are the best i like the stainless steel brush hog king kutter makes it wont rust away
