OMG..what an amazing take on this song...I never thought anyone could get close to Meave....this woman has an incredible haunting voice and the backdrop sound of the ocean waves just adds credibility to this most haunting lament....this leaves me almost speechless...

the song was written in 1788 by a woman who just lost her fiance in a shipwreck. Shortly after, she wrote this song in Gaelic. Shortly after that, she had lost her will to live and drowned in the ocean to be with her deceased love forver.
