This is the Blockhouse on the Saratoga Battlefield, in place from 1927 until the late 1950s. It was moved to the Village of Stillwater, NY and is now a local history museum. I am the Curator at Saratoga National Historical Park, and would love a copy of this film for the park's archives.

I don't think there is a blockhouse like this at Fort Ticonderoga. Also, in the 20s and 30s large scale restoration was underway there and it doesn't seem evident in the film. If the sign by the house says "Gen. Arnold's HQ" it could be anywhere from the Kennebec River, to Quebec, to the Champlain valley, to Saratoga, to West Point. The blockhouse looks a little like Ft. Halifax in Winslow, ME - the original was lost in a flood a few years ago but has been rebuilt. Thanks for posting!

Thank you. Who should I write to find out more about where this might be?
