Whether or not you're aware, you are a music expert. In this http://www.watchmojo.com video, we speak with author Daniel Levitin about his book, This Is Your Brain on Music, to find out the brain science behind our musical expertise.

  • This tells us nothing about "How the mind interprets music". That title is false advertising. Most of the video is about trivia, like "Who have been some of the greatest people you have worked with?" This video seems to be really just an ad for Levitin's book. (I don't blame Levitin - I blame WatchMojo.)

  • @2JAMMY Why do children love pure sugar? Their sense of taste isn't refined enough to detect and appreciate subtlety and variety. I think this is true for all "children" (i.e. newbies) to any field.

  • OK I don't really know what I was expecting - (maybe that I'd learn something) But this was not what I was expecting (does that even make sense?).

OK and a serious point - Why is the majority of music (mainstream) seem to me to be just noise with no meaning or sense - or is it that WE give it A meaning when we add the magic ingredients of emotion and (pleasant?) memories.

HEY!!!! Like the guy said I can be an expert too!! Dream on people - Enjoy your vibes! :):)
