I watched a number of reenactment vids on YouTube. The thing that strikes me is that there seems to be a relatively loose dress code in the Confederate reenactment groups. The confederate 'soldiers' are wearing a wide range of differing uniforms. The Union 'troops' come across as a much more uniformly dressed group. Is this impression correct? If so, is this the way it was during the Civil War?
