"Elmo" is a two-toed sloth. Here he's munching on a fruit and veggie kabob while hangin' around his habitat at the Children's Zoo.
Sloths do everything in an unhurried way. They move very slowly -- a good way to save energy. They digest their meals of low-calorie leaves slowly in their large, multi-chambered stomach. They even poop just once a week! Maybe this leisurely lifestyle is the reason sloths are among the most successful mammals in the forests of Central and South America.
