@TheShadowCorpse They needed to be tortured. It's like when the Sheriff asked "Baby" how it felt to be helpless like how they made their victims feel. As the movie progressed, the Sheriff seen that he can't capture them by "walking the line". He had to stoop to their level. If the law was still allowed to act that way, crime wouldn't be the way it is now.

Probably one of the only movies where I wanted the killers to live more than the people they killed, I love the ending, and this is probably one of the best ending I have seen to a movie like this.
