  • well muay thai looks a lot stiffer then sanda does. if you look at muay thai fights they both approach each other at the center of the ring and duke it out. They don't move in and out as much and their striking approach is different because of the goals. Muay thai strikes to strike but sanda strikes to masks throws at times. The flow of the two seem very different and i think sanda is great and a great style style to match up against muay thai. I personally love both! Dont hate, appreciate!

  • Part 2- Also, how often do you see Judo guys successfully throw their opponents in a fight the way Sanshou guys do? How often do you see top MMA fighters use kicking, striking, and wrestling so simultaneously as Sanshou guys do?

Would it be better to learn MT for striking and take-downs from Judo? Fuck nah.

  • That only work with the top San da fighter vs Average Muay Thai fighter, if you put top vs the Top, the San da fighter remain like a kicking bag to Muay Thai

  • Yeah..u guys r rite....about more techniques...maybe some old school muay thai chaiya.

  • @ILike2DrinkAlot you're right... and all the falling onto the mat and getting up again actually wears the thrown fighter out faster.

  • @fadedsideways fair comment!

  • @ForwardIntent Good point bro

  • annoying crowd

  • @ForwardIntent Sort of apples and oranges. The sports are very different. Sanshou fighters can afford to be stronger and have less stamina because of the stop and go nature of sanshou bouts. MMA bouts will allow clinching and grappling for longer periods of time before separating fighters, and rounds last 5 minutes instead of 3.

Also, in a sanshou bout with the typical head gear and body armor, catching kicks to the body or even head is less risky meaning you see more throws.

  • sanshou sanda is a great martial arts. I love mt as well.

  • To all of sanda & muay thai fans. This fight sanda guy 80 kg (180 lb) while muay thai guy only 72kg. If you want to see the result when sanda fight in the same weight with muay thai guy go here. watch?v=Zf1tYh2LIVY
