Jóhann Jóhannsson - Sálfræðingur

Jóhann Jóhannsson (born 1969) is an Icelandic musician, composer and producer. He is a co-founder of Kitchen Motors in Reykjavík, the art organization/think tank/record label which specializes in initiating collaborations, promoting concerts and exhibitions, performances, chamber operas, producing films, books and radio shows based on the ideals of experimentation, collaboration and the search for new art forms.[

The opening percussion in Moondog's composition "Caribea" is very similar to the percussion in "Sálfræðingur". Give a listen to Moondog's song- he was an amazing musician and composer.

The opening is almost a sampling of one of Moondog's songs- can't remember which one- but as Jóhannsson does such a great job with this, I am sure Moondog would approve. I grew up in the NYC area, and remember seeing Moondog preforming on the street. He was a scary-looking dude, but what talent!
