On Tuesday about a hundred North Koreans began another three-day reunion in the communist North to meet more than 400 South Korean family members. They've not seen family members for more than half a century. The two-hour reunions were held at a resort in Mount Kumgang, just miles from the border on the Korean peninsula's east coast. The first day of the reunion was marked by sorrow, joy and relief as people from the two Koreas were finally reunited. Most of the hundreds of thousands of South Koreans looking for lost family members in the North are 70 or older, meaning time is running out. 100-year-old South Korean Kim Yoo-Joong finally met her third daughter she left behind in the communist state during the Korean War. Her 75-year-old daughter Lee Hye-kyong remembered how her mother had left her. [Lee Hye-kong, Reuniting with her Mother]: "You said you would be back shortly, but 60 years have passed since then." Lee's mother was surprised to see her daughter as a granny. [Kim Yoo-joong, Reunting with her Daughter]: "You are a granny now." [Lee Hye-kong, Reuniting with her Mother]: "Sixty years have passed. Sixty years have passed." After the emotionally charged group reunions, they are to have a welcoming dinner together. The South Koreans have to return to the South on Thursday. The two Koreas began reunions in 2000 for the hundreds of thousands of divided families. But the events have been on hold for about two years due to political tension. The two Koreas are still technically at war since the 1950-53 Korean War ended in a truce without a peace treaty.

  • @tessma couldn't agree more with you

  • yeah this is bull shit. Those families should reunite and live together as a family.Someone had better do something against North but smart move.I wish I have a magic. I would love to erase all nuclear and other weapons from North tht way USA or South Korea or UN easily remove those idiot leaders from North Korea and start fresh a good country.

  • THIS IS NOT RIGHT NO GOVERNMENT ,NO MAN, NO PLACE, NO BODY NOTHING HAS THE RIGHTS TO SEPARATE FAMILIES AND LOVED ONES.THIS IS AGAINST THE RULE AND TEACHINGS OF GOD. LOVE AND BE LOVED .

DUE TO POLITICS INNOCENT FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS HAVE TO SUFFER.

    "THEY ARE THE LIVING DEAD."
