Liberian 419 scam gang (Thailand/Malaysia)

A large LIBERIAN gang of scammers are hunting for victims in shopping malls and on the streets of Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia.

Mohammad Lamine Soomah from Guinea and Chistopher O Harris and Steven L Cooper from Liberia are some of the chaps behind this 419 scam, digital forensics revealed that the gang is worldwide with Monrovia as its HQ. The scammers pretend to have shipments of illegal currency or gold to lure greedy mugus.

The fake bill of lading used in this scam was from GLOBAL SECURITIES COMPANY LIMITED supposedly based in the Netherlands - a country that is often involved in 419 scams.

The Liberian in the video when confronted with the fact that he is a scammer tries to explain that he was a victim of a famous Liberian scammer who floats between Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia.

MOHAMMAD LAMINE SOOMAH is now in Thailand running his 419 operation preying on Thai women and tourists to Thailand. MOHAMMAD is involved in document fraud as well as defrauding the public, although he is from Guinea most of his gang members are from neighboring Liberia. MOHAMMAD entered Thailand again on the 9th September from Poi Pet in Cambodia and is back scamming again.

These Liberian scammers are well versed in the art of lying and shedding tears when needed to support their scams. The man in the video goes by the names of Mohammad, Chaz, Da-shide and Steven Cooper, he swaps SIM cards with other 419ers and has around 40 Liberians in his Bangkok network.

This video has been made because the Liberian mutation of the Nigerian scam is highly virulent and carries a devastating payload, unlike the scam known as Nigerian 419 these Liberians actually try to increase their chances of catching a mugu by hunting them down on the streets, Nigerians usually do not like to take such bold risks and prefer to play 419 like a video game.

This video is designed to help create awareness as innocent bystanders can suddenly find their money taken from them and their lives could also be in danger. It is also designed to show that 419 is not a purely Nigerian scam but a scam commited by peoples of many nationalities. The maker of the video fully understands that many of these Liberians come to Asia with the aid of human trafficking gangs and find it hard to find honest jobs here, this is however no excuse for scamming people who are often not that rich themselves and sometimes commit suicide as a result of losing their life savings.

Chaz when confronted about his scam tried to explain that he was investigating Nigerian drug dealers in order to win the rewards being offered by www.dea-rewards.com - he then tried to explain that he was a victim in a chain of mugus.

Warning: these scammers have a very high EQ, they are charismatic and often have excellent hypnosis skills, they appear to work in small gangs but in fact thier gangs can be quite large with members playing different roles for a share in the action, some are document forgers, some emailers, some are MAGA or MUGU hunters others work as security detail watching out for undercover cops.

@elbeezeeful That is what you say but in practice it does not work like that.. Africans stand out so they are demonized. Do you campaign against Europeans as well or Chinese. How many Nigerians are in Malaysia that you think you have the right to label the whole country Actually you are probably prejudice and dont know it Don't worry we will ban Malay from coming to Nigeria to work our oil fields since they all are whore chasers. @EgbesuJuju2010 - scammers are all the same, all hated no matter who they are what their skin color are, be it malaysians we dont spare them... lowest of the low. u should know more than 80% scammers here in our country are done by africans mostly nigerians. What is popularly known 419 scam? isnt it the criminal code in nigeria? We has now started a nationwide campaign to urge the government to stop africans from coming to this country freely.

What ever perceptions the west has about different groups is irrelevant.English also do a lot of scams why are you not here complaining about them. How many Europeans rip off Asian countries or even worse come there to defile your youth. Instead you are here worrying about the comparatively insignificant crimes committed by Liberians.

@elbeezeeful Malay do scams in places like London and else where. Most Asian countries have highly developed crime syndicates. Please let us all not be hypocrites. I have had Malay, as well as Chinese Malay friends you guys are far from saints. There are good and bad in all nations and often poverty encourages these desperate acts. No excuse but sometimes one does what he has to to survive. This happens world wide but it is easier to point fingers at a foreigner.
