Oksana Grishuk with her old partner Alexander Chickov at the 1988 Junior Worlds. They won here and interestingly, Evgeni Platov won it 3 times in 1984, 1985, and 1986 with his first partner, Elena Krikanova. I think Oksana benefitted from having been coached by different people over the years (she was coached by Linichuk until 1989, she went to Dubova from 90-92, back to Linichuk from 93-96, and she ended her amateur career with Tarasova during 97 and 98) because I think she improved over the years (although she's already fantastic here at such a young age).

  • This is incredible.

  • Absolutelly Brilliant. With this programm they could will Olympic Gold Medails.

  • They could probably have made the top 10 that year in the senior Worlds with this level of performance.

It's interesting that Natalia Linichuk did this program, because it emulating the style of Bestemianova/Bukin so much. I guess they were both coached by Tchaikovskaya, Tarasova, and/or Dubova at some point (not together, of course).
