I find this performance magic. That's what interpretation is all about, out of the dead score something unique and lively.

musikguru: The only thing Bach indicated in the score was notes. Bach gave no dynamics, articulation, or agogics. Tipo plays all the notes exactly as Bach indicated, thus you are wrong. Making music is more than "reading the text" anyway. If we just read Bach's text, it would sound like a MIDI performance-- dry, dull, and boring.

@musikguru1 Wow. Nothing like a glimpse of unfettered pomposity to liven an evening. Congratulations. You're precisely the sort of 'expert' (calling anything that doesn't happen to fit your taste "crap," and condescendingly dismissing anyone who disagrees - without ever answering his questions, I note), whose very existence keeps so many would-be music lovers far from the classical world.
I found Ms. Tipos performance both beautiful and moving. I'm sorry you disagree. The loss is yours.

There's never reason to be rude. Even if you don't like Tipo's playing, I think it's more revealing of your musical judgment than it is of her level of playing when you call something like this "crap" and misspell "vis-a-vis."
