Stretch Your Heart! Gift of Giving-Helping Kids Through Sport
Todays Project: Were building a basic BMX and skate park for a local community housing location at 75 Tandridge Cr. Toronto (Albion + Islington area) . The construction project will involve assembling 8 platforms or tables, 2 quarter ramps and 2 flat ramps. Guests will be divided into teams, provided the tools, materials and guidance of an experienced carpenter, and will have one hour to complete the task. The goal is to have the course ready for delivery to Tandridge by the end of the afternoon.
Tomorrows Project: Suddenly, real life will usurp video games
Imagine:
-a unique youth action sports centre
-located centrally in Toronto
-accessible to all (no user fees)
-catering to BMX Riders, skateboarders, inline skaters, freestyle mountain bike riders, and others wanting to develop their skills for action sports
-provides a constructive, healthy activity for Torontos youth

The BMX Bike Ramps used in the demo today are from the torontoBMXjam09 being held March 13, 14, 14, 2009 at the Direct Energy Centre. Over 150 BMX riders under 14s, ladies, amateur and pros from across North America will compete on a 50x140 course filled with obstacles. What you see today is on ly the beginning. Cst Mills has implemented a unique and highly praised project to link graffiti artists with skate park ramps to provide not on ly readily accessible canvases for their work but also opportunities for Toronto Police Service officers and Crime Stoppers community volunteers to work more closely with community youth. As we forge ahead with future Action Sports facilities in the city, the value of linking youth groups through one centre will continue to be the backbone of our projects.
