My Grandma passed away on Tuesday, July 26. Life won't be the same without her --especially Christmas -- but she was a wonderful woman with a wonderful family, church, and community -- such a legacy. We gathered to pay her tribute and to celebrate her homegoing on July 30, 2011.
I've left the first several minutes before the funeral edited in, to include my Mom's playing of several beloved hymns. The funeral proper begins about 8:35 in the video. with the congregational hymn "When We All Get to Heaven." Jonathan Wiseman's obituary and tribute begins at 11:33. The congregational hymn "The Old Rugged Cross" begins at 17:35.
Brother George Meese's Scripture reading and tribute begins at 22:15. Mom and my duet, "The Longer I Serve Him," begins at 34:11. Brother Gene Ellis's sermon begins at 39.26. And a final slideshow of pictures of Grandma and the family -- set to hymns "All That Thrills My Soul is Jesus" and "I Love to Tell the Story" -- begins at about 1:00:03, followed by some closing credits that relate key details of Grandma's life.
What a beautiful tribute to your grandma. I pray that God will give all of you strength to face future days without her earthly presence. She has gone to be with Jesus and I very much like that you called it a 'homegoing' celebration. Oh, how true you are. God bless you all... LuWanda
