Italy Ends Search for Underwater Missing

Italian emergency officials are ending the search for missing people in the submerged part of the Costa Concordia cruise ship due to the danger to rescue workers. (Jan. 31)

With all out technology, why can't they patch the ship? Get people to do underwater welding...fix it...use those gigantic underwater balloons to lift the ship up, then pump out the water.

This is not unreasonable. I've seen it done in salvage operations.

None of those missing people are alive. It's time to get that ship out of there, unless they are insistent on turning it into a tourist attraction.
