Great song! Another fantastic doo wop number written by Zappa is "Love of My Life" by Ron Roman. It's on here, too, but the song title's not on it. It's just listed as "Ron Roman."

I trained for my new job in El Monte for two weeks. I thought it was a really chill city and I liked the vibe. I could picture raising my kids there. Im gonna have to visit all the cool people I met there soon.

I was in the Marine Corps back in '62 stationed at Pendleton. We used to make the usual weekend liberty runs, Tijuana, Dago & L.A. Being a Philadelphia doo-wop lover I was addicted to Art Laboe's Oldies But Goodies LP's. I remembered hearing about El Monte, so a few of us went. It was great. Dick Hugg was the M.C. He had three guests, Rosie, the Carlos Bros., and Tony Allen (who was a whole show himself) Good memory.
