I decided to create a video which showcases the beauty of Bamburgh Castle. This castle, famously used in Robin of Sherwood (1980's TV Series for the UK) displays a Celtic beauty. So, fittingly, I used Clannad's "Caislean Oir" as my background music. When translated, the song speaks of a castle on the sea. I assumed they were singing about this castle.

  • I was present many years ago when they used the castle and beach for making the 1964 movie Becket, it was meant to be a castle in France in winter filmed in high summer Northumberland. Peter O'Toole, Richard Burton were riding their horses on the beach. Elizabeth Taylor was present but nothing to do with the film. Her Rolls Royce was hidden in the sand dunes. I believe this was before she married Burton the first time.

  • Bamburgh Castle is just amazing. <3

  • Nice vid but there is nothing celtic about Bamburgh, the former capital of Engle Northumbria. Lovely place tho, try Lindisfarne a couple of miles up the road.

  • i stayed at warren mill last year and fell in love with Bambourgh castle and its beautiful beach. that place holds some lovely memories of what will always be the best holiday eva
