I first heard of this piece in the 4th Grade. I wondered what it would sound like, and suspected it would sound pretty creepy and Banshee-ish. Now I have finally heard it.

It is hard for us to imagine how scary this piece would be to a 1925 audience who had never heard decades of spooky horror- and SF-film soundtracks. Still creepy enough for me, anyway.
