Grayson Hobby ESC Fire on Skyfighter V2 Maiden

Skyfighter V2 given to me by http://www.youtube.com/user/rcFoamFighters

Maiden flight ends in an ESC fire.

Airtronics RD6000 transmitter with Hitec Electron 6 receiver
Used Krylon Fusion for plastic for the black paint on the bottom and a red marker for the vertical stabilizers

If you had a larger ESC (like a 30-40A) it might not have smoked. This might be what your hot-rod friends are doing. This is still no good as it just pushes the stress to the motor or batter. So even if your ESC didn't smoke your motor and/or battery would soon.

@RCSuperPowers Oh, ok. Well this is a learning experience for me and a new esc is not that expensive. So I guess my battery and my motor still should be good then.

The reason it smoked is because you put a prop on it thats way too big.

@RCSuperPowers That is probably true. I used that prop because I had seen a couple other people use it without problem but I guess my luck is not that good.

man, sorry to see that go down like that,probably needed a 30 esc,...hobbyking usualy has some cheap esc's for about10 to 20 bucks,..read th reviews below and pick 1,..if u had overproped it would have atleast flown for a little while before th fire,...good luck brother,peace.
