I agree, and he has proven that his strength is in ballads. I do respect him, he is a consumate professional.
Good actor too. And now a film producer. Hard to think that the young Young had anything to with Pop Idol and anything remotely with the loathsome Cowell.

@TheSolaris810 Well, I think if he had auditioned a few years later knowing what these competitions expect he would have chosen a different song. It is a dodgy song choice for such a talented singer.

Fair enough, its all subjective, but he could have made more of an effort with that dodgy dancing- I think thats what did it- it looked half-hearted & clumsy. Still all in the past, he choreographs well now, and is respected in his own right.

@TheSolaris810 I'm afraid to say that to get past the first round of auditions, you don't need to be that good, therefore this performance was more than good enough. Anyone can tell from this that the guy has a unique voice but the song is hardly the one to showcase this.

Fraid so. Its hard to think he is the same artist today who is a heavyweight in his own right. As i said, what do I know- but this audition was...sorry...karaoke. Its all in the past!!!
