WOW WHAT A BRILLIANT AD FOR EBAY!!!! HOWEVER, THE LOCO IS GREAT!
-
@jazzyjason90 prototypical chuff is 4 not 3.

@lilchimi1030 I always tell people to buy their stuff on eBay. I buy 90% of my stuff on eBay, 5% on traveling train shows and the other at hobby stores. I've spent in the past few years over $7,000 on eBay and have NEVER been burned. I'm sure that day may come, but when I do, the savings I've gotten will more than justify the risk. Also when using PayPal, they will cover your losses.

@jazzyjason90 YIKES! Arnies use to be very expensive. Have they been more realistic recently? I use to travel up from San Diego to visit that store at times. Right now I'm in an area just outside of Sacramento. LOT'S of train stores up here! Good prices too! Wishing you a great new year.

something is wrong with he chuffs per revolution on that engine
-
Hey Jason,
That is a really nice locomotive... cool...
i have a early rail king.. one with just smoke and whistle..
-
whats wrong with chugging and the smoke since my cousin has a lionel version but not an MTH.
-
I thought one exhaust stroke per revolution was bad (as with my QSI-upgrade-chipped Broadway Ltd Hudson, see videos) but you have one stroke per TWO revolutions!!!! LOL!
People were asking what the issue was with the chuffs. It was the ticker tape. The Engine has a reader that counts the flywheel. The tape had worn off so i had to be replaced. That and in my other video I have DCS with the prototypical setting of three chuffs per revolution.

Great engine!! I would LOVE to get my hands on one with a passenger consist as well!! i have a few questions. Where did you purchase the engine? Do you need a certain controller to use the engine?? I heard that the train will run on Lionel FasTrack, which I think is what you are using as well. So if you can answer those questions I would be grateful!!

@lilchimi1030 I purchased it at Arnies Trains in Westminster. This is from 2009 so unless you can find one in the product info on the MTH website you may be able to find one on ebay. And no a z-1000 controller or same wattage controller will work. I use DCS so I have all the features. And yes I'm using Fastrak. I also got the engine back from repair and will be making a new video shortly.

Hi again everyone! Well it's been awhile but I have another update. The locomotive is headed back to MTH a second time, this time for a weird issue with the low smoke setting and bell combo which makes it jerk for some reason. Just upgraded to 0-60 curves as well on the layout. Hoping to get a video in of my Big Boy now since my friend has a better HD camera. Hopefully this week : D

Hello again everyone. Well some even better news! I JUST completed my permanent 7x12 layout in the garage and now have full on DCS capability! Daylight is running great now as well. I've been working alot this week but I will try to get a video done saturday. No promises but I may be able to also get the Big Boy by Saturday as well. We'll see. Cross your fingers! : D

Hey everyone another quick update. Good news!! My MTH Daylight FINALLY arrived back at Arnies Trains today! I'm going out there tomorrow to test it and pick it up. I'm also setting the chuff rate to the prototypical 4 chuffs and they say the engine is running top notch!
I'm working 40 hours a week now, but hopefully I'll have something up by Sunday.
