Morality and the Insanity Defense. Randall Niles asks, "Does Ethical Tolerance Lead to Moral Chaos?"

Morality speaks of a system of behavior in regards to standards of right or wrong behavior. The word carries the concepts of: (1) moral standards, with regard to behavior; (2) moral responsibility, referring to our conscience; and (3) a moral identity, or one who is capable of right or wrong action. Common synonyms include ethics, principles, virtue, and goodness. Morality has become a complicated issue in the multi-cultural world we live in today. Let's explore what morality is, how it affects our behavior, our conscience, our society, and our ultimate destiny.

  • That there has to be a body of people that get together and create laws, that the people doing this and the very laws they create rely on votes which have to be won, that these votes are often highly contested issues with ridiculous amounts of wealth spent trying to convince people one way or the other, these are all what should be obvious evidence towards the fact that there is no absolute or universal morality. Is it more ironic or fitting that your profession disproves your faith?

  • clever and to - the - point. Or to put it another way - "truth" - humans search for truth. Therefore, there must be truth seeing as humans concieve the possibility of truth - or all our ancestors were idiots and we are intelligent for not believing what everyone else believed. In short: either 1)argument from consensus or 2)arrogance(intellectual zionism). Thus, there is a true standard of right and wrong, even if rebellious humans are uncomfortable with that fact.
