Our LauderdaleChristmas.com 65,000 energy efficient LED Christmas lights display, shot with my Canon Vixia HF10 using my own custom settings. This is the Overature from Miracle on 34th st. Our display is energy saving 100% LEDs, with 144 channels from 9 Light-O-Rama computerized lighting controllers from Light-O-Rama. I act as orchestrater, tell the lights when to turn on or off, fade, twinkle, etc. An MP3 player inside the controller plays the music and controls the lights according to your programmed orchestration. We transmit it to people's cars radio via a low power transmitter on unused 100.9 FM. We have several more videos on Vimeo, so please check there too: http://vimeo.com/user326542 as YouTube shoots down many of my videos because of their dispute with Warner Music (WMG).

  • What camera did you use? I haven't seen a consumer grade HD camcorder yet that is able to capture such crisp, clear night shots. It looks very nice. You've also come a long way since your "Holidays" video from a few years ago. The display keeps on improving. I will say that the panning around and moving perspective of the camera is a bit vexing. I think it'd be better to leave it in one spot with a full panoramic view.

  • @leopardian I used a Canon Vixia HF10 High dEfinition camcorder, one of the earliest ones Canon came out with 3 years ago. They have better models out by now, the trick is playing with the manual settings to get it to come out good like you see in this video.

  • No, sorry, we took down the lights yesterday, Saturday 1/9.

  • this is.. a mess?

  • One suggestion from an old concert lighting designer, when programming your lights don't use them all right away. We used to have a saying "Don't blow your load all at once". Build through out the song so to make the audience anticipate and get more excited as the song builds. Great show....I wish my house was on a street and not a lane so I could do this. Keep it up.

  • Too Much Money? xD

  • @leopardian Any modern DSLR (like Canon 500D) can do that :)

  • Amazing! Love it! Christmas lights and, of course, Christ's birthday anniversary is what makes Christmas such a special holiday :)

  • I was there yesterday with my parents visiting from Italy, LOVED it!!!!!!!

  • You bring a whole new meaning to "keeping up with the Jones'!!!"
