Finally. Got my setup nearly finished; windows movie maker not letting me use Line-In as audio source though so I'm trying to find a fix for that. Other than that, a good first shot for a first time...actually the mic isn't too bad =P

Hope you enjoy it, cheers =D

  • Hi Kim! Great job! :) Where did you get the band? Are they live, or are they prerecorded tracks? If the latter, did you program them yourself?

  • Band in a Box 2007

  • Hi Vayshan,

I really enjoyed your playing. Where do you get the jazz scores from? especially this piece.

  • Real books. Get a set of them and you're set for life.

  • what's the book called? or can I just get this piece: blame it on my youth?

  • They're called Real books. And fake books. Google a little and you can find a search engine where you can input the name of a song and it will give you a list of volumes that list it.

  • love when you ignored your small mistake..so great!

  • One more thing .. Where do you learn this?

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • stunning! thank you for a beautiful post!

    Peace- Clark

  • exelent!!!!

  • Cool. That song was played at my wedding.................... well it wasnt my wedding it was my ex's

  • I am extremely impressed, I can fumble through this version from the new real book but have no idea how to produce such a lovely improvised solo as you have done.

  • You could not have selected a finer composer of melodies than Oscar Levant. You have done a very fine, heartfelt, rendition of his masterpiece: "Blame it on my Youth".

It may be of interest to your fans that Levant was a close friend with George Gershwin. When George died in 1937, it was Oscar Levant who was crowned as the sole interpreter and virtuoso performer of George Gershwin's Music. All of it!!!

Keep up your own extraordinary and refined work!

  • Beautiful.... :D

  • You know you are very talented in your musical recreational activity! However, I would recommended that you try and look into a different category of music other than jazz. You seem to be great at playing jazz pieces, but I think you should at least try to expand your creativity in your musical activities!
