@BroadwayCjx7 Cubs are not even top 5 spenders year to year. The Yankees on the other hand are not only top spenders but #1 spenders from year to year with the exception of 2 years in the last decade. The years they didn't come in first, they were top 3 and never went below 3. The Yankees are so extreme that in the off season when trying to sign every star in the league, they wind up bidding against themselves. This is the norm for the Yankees and has been since the days of Ruth.

My wife's grandpa was dying, and he was in his mid 90's. He had been a cubs fan most all of his life...supported them, etc.
Just when he was about to pass, his wife wrote to the Cubs org to get a ball or something signed by players as a "last comfort" to him.
Guess what they sent him? An 8x6 b&w picture of Dusty Baker, signed by Dusty Baker.
Now, that's crap. Screw you, Cubs.
