Short films are not something I would normally think about. I have seen a few on television but I have never taken the time to really consider going to see them at a theatre. Well all that has changed.
I attended the World Wide Short Film Festival media launch and it provided me with the bigger picture - excuse the pun. While being served hors d'oeuvres and offered wine (which I didn't have) I read up on the 281 films being screened at the festival.
I also had the opportunity to meet and interview "How We Exit" film makers Jeff Harris and Reg Vermue. They shared with me their experience with their music video and it's upcoming premiere at the festival. While describing their experiences both Jeff and Reg would smile ear to ear making it obvious their love of the process and the end result.
I am looking forward to watching many of the films being screened at the festival including the headline celebrity shorts. As a 15 year old I am willing to admit the attraction to the familiar faces from the movies and television.
The World Wide Short Film festival runs from June 1st to June 6th in Toronto. For more information visit www.shorterisbetter.com.
