  • That small dog scares me, he looks demonic.

  • @cawakahn I just took your advice-- I narrowed the air pipe with some pliers, put the pipe in the slot with the computer first balanced on the left side and then on the right side, blowing in air for maybe 15 seconds. Soon the latch popped out flush and the problem was solved. THANK YOU!! PJTramdack

  • Do you have a video for how to replace that bottom latch? My bottom latches came out in pieces. I have another Macbook Pro junker where the latch does work.

  • Thanks a lot for this really great how-to. However, I don't seem to be able to do the "push the clips" thing at 3:25. The clip on the right is closed, but the one in the middle isn't. Sadly I don't really see exactly what you are doing. Do you push with your finger? Where exactly? How deep do you insert your tool into the DVD ROM opening? It would be really great to see it in a bit more detail, could you post another video, or link me another resource? But thanks anyway?

  • @cawakahn, tried your suggestion first and it worked took 10sec tops! Thanks!

  • Thank you so much!!

    This works perfectly!

  • Thank you very very much. Your solution worked perfectly.

  • @7traymiami Well it was helpful to the 8,000 other people who had similar but different latch problems.

  • Before you dismantle your computer, try the simpler solution. Press the latch in, while holding the computer upside down (i.e., keyboard face down) - then blow canned air into the little rectangular holes to dislodge the obstruction. It worked for me in 30 secs on my Macbook Pro, and no need to perform open-hear surgery.

  • how to tight a macbook pro 2010 hinge?
