Just as the printing press set free the human mind to think and share about how to shape a better world, Linux / FOSS is a revolutionary new methodology in engineering. This has branched off into Creative Commons that I really look forward to seeing revolutionize how students use textbooks, and build a new respect for the idea of global knowledge. Monolithic knowledge preparation and distribution needs to die. It is slow like oral history compares to printing books.
