This is SO not going to work with our canary. As soon as he notices me looking at him, he stops whatever he is doing (singing, jumping around, just hanging around...) and starts breathing real hard. But I love him nonetheless :)
Maybe if I include something to eat...

i have a little canary 10 months old i got him when he was 5 months old he is mostly used to me more then anyone else basically he is terrified of everyone except me and my parents he is not afraid when i bring my face close to him but when i bring me hand close to him slowly he will move a bit and then he will fly away like he thinks im playing a game with him he hops around in his cage waiting for my hand to come towards him and he keeps moving away i don't know what to do any suggestions?

ughh do you know how to hand tame a canary IN the cage? whel at least i have a amazon parrot not trained, i saw her on a tree in my grandmothers garden so my dad brought a hose shooting at it, cuz the amazon was on a tall tree . then it fell down to the ground , but luckily it wasint hurt and we brought a big cage for her , and i know that she is a girl cuz every time my uncle comes SHE GOES WACKO but now she gets used to me and i hand tamed her , feed her chillies ( her favorite ) .

@zimri19 Still, you shouldn't try to act like a know-it-all when your grammar isn't exactly correct. Gotta love blowhards like you.

@ArseTang because capital letters are redundant and don't affect the meaning of a word, the difference between you're and your does change the meaning.
well just to let you know your bird seemed a little mad every time you lifted it
