Ah lovely,No scum, litter,track suits,fat women on mobiles pushing prams,no Aldi,Lidl,Tesco etc..Kebab shops,KFC,Mc donalds..To late to get the country back to splendor,just got these lovely movies to remind us of a great country this once was...Thank you for the post.

Thanks. My surname is North and apparently my North ancestors left Halifax to emigrate to New Zealand. I would love to visit one day. Nice video.

Aah the Bull Green area of my birth town. I know it well. Hasn't really changed much except all the pubs round there now...and the takeaway wrappers...and the chavs...and the broken glass on a Sunday morn...and the sick on a Sunday morn!! Other than that...hey...

@Captainjjb The New Victoria was called Victoria Hall until 1960 when it was refurbished and renamed. It later became the Halifax Civic Theatre in 1973 and changed back to The Victoria Theatre in 1993.The cinema was the Regal purpose built in 1938, which later became ABC in 1961 and closed in 2002. So, with this timeline we can pinpoint it to 1960 after The New Vic to 1961 before ABC

More like the late 60s I think or early 70s. In the 50s the buses had a back, open platform. Your buses have front doors which didn't come in until the early 70s, I think.
Als, the cinema opposite the New Victoria was not called the ElDorado. It was either the ABC in the 60s or the Regal...can't remember which.

ABC was the cinema opposite Eldorado during the 70's, now a nightclub I think. It's interesting noone can absolutely pin down the date here, early 60's seems to be the best bet.
