If you keep saying simply "no" to Ali Fakir, you can eventually get the price down to five dinars, if memory serves me right. Do it more than that, and I think you'll die from "terminal stubborness".

you can type "bargain for _____" and you can give them your own price and haggle for what you want to buy. This is where your gift for gab comes in.

@24000RPM There are some differences to the capabilities of the interfaces. Simply put, this "shitty crap" was the system that the developers decided on to make their game the best it could be. If you don't like it, go play something else rather than rag on a good game.

Me: Well, if he has a map from online, it can't be that bad can it? There's no way this place is THAT big.
*ingame map opens*
Me: *jaw drops, eyes widen*

How can this game being from 1990-1992 and still dealing with a shitty "type-in" crap? I don't care older players then me can think it has it charms cuz it totally sucks. I mean seriously why not find other ways to make a game duration even longer. This just gets you to work instead of playing. I would play the remake from AGD interactive cuz it makes it a point and click playable game and not that primitive crap. Why they even though of doing type-in crap when point and click interface existed?

An easier way to find the moneychanger for the first time is to run out in the desert, kill a brigand for a few dinars (might be hard if you play a non-imported wizard/thief, though), then buy the map and compass right off the bat. Then you don't have to navigate the streets blind.

Christ, pun overload.

A little late, perhaps, but I figured out that changing 10 Coins in a row is a quite good rate, Dinarzad will change them for 9 Dinars, so you only miss one coin.
Rakeesh kind of looks like Prince Thrakhath

I think I once calculated that the optimal exchange was 19 coins at a time (or something like that).

Heh. I guess I'm just not mathematical enough to have actually bothered trying to figure out the algorithm and doing the calculations. This is the sort of thread subject you'd see at xkcd. XD
