So this video was born out of my frustration over the fact that there was no Merlin(/Morgana) video that used this song in full. I've been vidding for a long time now, and one of the things that bother me most about fan videos these days is the idea of a "vidlet". Not so long ago, vidlets were a rare thing to come by; nowadays most of the videos I see are only a minute to two minutes long, sometimes longer, sometimes not. I feel as though there's always so much more potential and so much more to play with and explore when people use the full song, and personally I feel as though vidlets should only be made due to a lack of footage, or because the song you'd like to use is a fifteen-minute epic.

To me, it has always been about the story-telling and the characters and conveying that through song. I've gone through many changes myself as a vidder but this is my one constant. It isn't about effects, or colouring -- though that isn't to say that those aren't admirable skills themselves -- so this video, I suppose, was made to prove a point. Yes, you can still edit to a full song. Yes, it'll take longer, and yes, it may be hard at times. No, you don't need a dozen different effects and colouring that's impossible to see. And no, simplicity is not such a terrible thing. Because at the end of the day, the characters are what's at the heart of the video -- and that is a simple concept in itself, no? ;)

Apologies for all the rambling! It's almost 2AM, and with ridiculous hours come ridiculous amounts of thoughts and ~feelings. I hope you enjoy the video, and comments are love as always!

@pottergirl287 Did you mean the bit at 0:44? (Sorry, I just got a tad confused because I read this and went, "...Arthur? But Arthur's never carried Morgana up any stairs!" Lol ;P) That's actually from a deleted scene in series three which is on the DVDs.
