@stelistu83 Valahia as cum era ca stat ( tara Romaneasca) insemna muntenia si oltenia si o perioada scurta si dobrogea.

Fabr1s, Oltenia si Valahia sunt doua chestii diferite. Valahia e pana la Olt, din punct de vedere geografic. De altfel, Oltenia a fost cunoscuta ca si Mica Valahie. Sa nu mai spunem ca de cele mai multe ori, Oltenia a fost mult mai independenta ca Valahia mare, fiind condusa de un Ban.

Some 10 or 15 years after I´d known "my first Romanian musical piece", I heard it by Toni Iordache [*] with Gheorghe Zamfir, wow!!! It´s so, so, so beautiful and soft (and this version is superb), that certainly no other "doina" (a song, not sung though - right?) can match it.

I like this song and the sound of cimbalom ("ţambal").I live in Wallachia(Oltenia) and I used to listen this piece with my grandparents in my childhood.
