This is a green-screen character replacement project done for school, The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Software used is Shake, After Effects, Adobe Photoshop. Its shot using Betacam, keyed using Shake and composited using Shake and After Effects. Done by Matt Beightol and Tor Pedersen, Master students in the Visual Effects degree at the Academy. Any comments would be nice.

  • Odd that none of the comments yet connected the dots and pointed out that the original sketch is what inspired the term spam for email. I doubt its common knowledge these days. Can remember first seeing in on BBS's in the last 80s but most us computer nerds loved to quote Monty Python at each other.

  • @cosmofur Indeed. Indeed. Been there, done that :) I remember when an Amiga group released the entire Bicycle Repair Man sketch on the A1200, what an amazing feat.

  • excellent. would like to see u do the whole skit.

  • @flibideegibbit Thanks, but it took about 6 months to do what we did, and we chose the bits we wanted to have in there quite carefully as well..

  • that was amazing

  • @Drumsinstopmotion Muchos gracias senor. Glad you liked it!

  • SPAM !!!

  • Impeccable green screening, by lackluster cheap typography.

I like the concept though. I'd polish the title cards before it went in a portfolio.

Try the titles on White using their Catull typeface. That's more in line with Google's branding.

    Cheers

  • wowwwww Superb!

  • @terroristamextremist thanks for the comment :) Yeah it was quite a bit of work, courtesy of Matt Beightol.
