this is probably the only gym battle you actually get over-leveled in (but youre supposed to fight rival be4 you fight bugsy,Bugsy is more skilled)

at least it wont be like that one battle with kakuna.

If you DO start of with Chikorita, it won't be TOO hard to take on Bugsy if you have a well-trained Pidgey/Pidgeotto, Spearow/Fearow, or Hoothoot/Noctowl with you. Those birds should know some flying moves if they get a lot of experience.
