Apophis 2029 (http://www.zentastic.com/temp/apophis2029/) is an experimental video game by Shannon Larratt in the style of Missile Command - meets - Space Invaders, written entirely in Javascript (with no Canvas element, no frameworks, and no Flash or other plugins). Performance is highly dependent on browser and computer speed (it should be much better than what's in this video, recorded by CamStudio btw). Game is all made of hand drawn animated sprites, which are scanned and converted into transparent PNGs for compositing. Please feel free to use the source code to learn as it includes many interesting features and tricks. Thanks to Google's "Chrome Experiments" for the inspiration.
