That's a great question. I think because the industry in terms of realism only began to hit its stride in the mid-90's, coupled with the fact that the entire thing is still in the acceptance stage and isn't taken fully seriously, there hasn't been enough examination into that yet. But with greater realism will come greater attention and it will bring more study into that.

Right now, all we have is hope. At the very least, we know it will help the shy (and clinically shy) and the disabled.

As for Teenagers... I think pornography laws will prevent contact with them in the US. But I've heard some parents say they would buy them for their sons or daughters as a rite of passage so that they can learn safely. Not saying I'm in favor of it, but it's up to each parent to decide. Of course in reality, we all know the kids won't really have much of a problem with it, lol. I bet a boy would jump for joy if he found out his Dad was buying this for his birthday.
