I would say if Chinese government want to avoid this kind of nail house problem, they should first post the right procedure to buy a property. Second, where to verify the ownership of the property.
Third, disclose all the development plan for the city.
Four, frankly communicate with existing owners.
Five, educate general public about the purchasing process. Use brute force and ignorant ways doom to fail. Thank for posting.

Frankly speaking, in some cases, a few of these proprietors are not 100 percent good minded persons, i.e. some of the are sort of greedy. But all the same, the very right of the rich and of the poor, and also of the "greedy" should be protected in the same time fairly.

"Nail House" or "Nail Proprietors"so called in Chinese, means those kinds of people, who have been struggling hard to protect their own properties, usually refers to the landownership. Some says, they'll never get satisfied with the high compensation fees. They are "hard nuts" for the big real estate companies. In the meanwhile some of the private proprietors are really get cheated by the contractors.
