Heir to a political dynasty that introduced him to politics, Olongapo City
Councilor John Carlos JC de los Reyes is defying tradition. Turning 40
years old next February, he is gunning for the presidency in 2010 without
the much-needed funds and machinery and against political giants who most
likely include his uncle, Senator Richard Gordon.

De los Reyes takes his turn on the Probe Profiles hot seat as he
discusses with host Cheche Lazaro his plans on how to defeat
well-entrenched traditional politicians in their own game through the
power of faith and conscience.

Discussing his principle-based politics, he cites the Gordon familys
brand of politics that pushed him to turn his back on them and embrace the
staunchly Catholic Ang Kapatiran party.
