  • Thanks Redshift. Yes, I was a little confused!!!

I don't think any of my pots would be worth a video. Ha ha.

  • Oop's I just realized your a different Claymaker to the person I was thinking of.... ha ha ha.... my bad, sorry if I confused you... in fact I confused myself there :)

Good luck from a rather sheepish Redshift21

BTW check Ebay as well as they often have wheels for sale, go to ukpotters"dot"co"dot"uk and use their Ebay tool.

  • You could also try doing an image search on google for "Leach Potters Wheel" and see what comes up I'm sure I saw a set of plans on there about three months ago or so.

Good luck and I just wanted to say I really liked the videos you did, you should do some more as I liked your take on life and pottery :)

  • Daffodils in the Snow,

    in Eastern Colorado,

    Happy Spring Simon and all!

    Like this very much.

  • Thank you Redshift21, I might just have to do that. I wish I hadn't meddled!!!!

  • Claymaker29 there are plans for building a Leach wheel in that book Simon recomends in an earlier video The self-reliant potter by Andrew Holden.

  • Hello Simon, do you never use slib to join a two pieced pot?

My teatcher learned us to make a slib off the same clay that you use at that moment. Sometimes I add a little vinegar to it, to glue the two pieces together.

    Monique

  • I wish I had a Leach wheel.

  • Good to see this latest clip. On a personal note, I've been 'tinkering' with my temperamental wheel. (electric) Inspired by you, Simon to throw better pots!

Result:- a non-functioning wheel and a very frustrated potter!!!

  • if i continue watching your vids, i think maybe the wish to start potting will be rising one day *gg
