Share&Care project in Nepal - Karuna Foundation - EN subtitles

Share & Care is a project focussed at strengthening health care systems and empowering communities through a cooperative community-based healthcare system.




The objective is to increase the access to affordable and adequate preventive (primary) health care, as well as to hospital care, for the entire community. The local health management committee is reactivated and the program is managed by the members of the committee.

Fundaments of Share&Care:
- Micro-insurance
- Focus on leadership, management and structure (capacity building)
-Work within the existing health care system of the government
- The leaders in the village are responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the program
- Improved health care
- Awareness about prevention and disabilities among women and children
- Rehabilitation of children with a disability in their own environment
- Income generating activities to increase the sustainability and to improve the lives of families with a child with a disability
