Of course he threw you out, I have worked for a larger rental company and you sign a contract when you begin working with a clause stating that your employment will be terminated if you talk to the media without the express permission of Head Office.
So please stop making him look like he was dishonest when all he was doing was saving his job.
Whilst I do not agree with the charge, I don't see it as a scam.....some vehicles will go for miles before the fuel gauge leaves the full mark.

How about the $25 "service charge" for a 0.25 toll fee? Miami Thrifty targets out of state families who know nothing about automated toll roads & their cameras. The desk at Thrifty did no effort to inform this Alaskan family of remifications. We figured if we came to a toll, we'd just pay the 0.25 - 0.75 fee. Ha! No booths... We now have two bills for $400 in service charges for about $8.00 in tolls. Oh, and the online rental was $275 per week, but when it was all done, try over $400... Bandits

I work for a car rental company NOT Dollar though. It's the SAME thing there. If WE don't see a gas receipt its gallon minimum charge. It's NOT a scam if your TOLD to bring in gas receipt upon fill up. The return agent could care less if you whine over it too cause ALL they know is there doing what there boss tells them to do. ALSO ITS ILLEGAL TO VIDEO TAPE SOMEONE THAT DOESNT WANT TO BE VIDEO TAPED!!! Bring a RECEIPT if you dont want to get charged!!! Is that SOOO hard?!

@808ITO Ummm, The check in guy can look at the gauge and see that it says full. I really hope your not serious, If so then you my friend are a moron, So by your logic when i rent a car and the gauge says full, I should get " Proof " that its actually full ?

nice vidio but do they still have the hidden charge.

I have never had this issue with Enterprise Rent A Car.

CONT. You would be surprised to notice that most cars even tho they are "Full" can still take up to 3 gallons of gas. Which is why this fuel charge takes place. And its not a Scam. All rental locations differ and depending on what state you are in and what gas prices are at and what it costs the company your renting from to buy gas from the providing company all prices will be different. Especially if its an airport. Airports force us to appy airport fee's

the fuel receipt policy is used to make sure each customer replaced fuel used within 10 miles of the location..the receipt just helps verify when and where it was topped off..if not, hw is the check-in guy to knw if you filled it after driving only 14 miles?just because u said so?? Besides the posted signage, you also agreed that u understd and dollar fuel policy when u signd the electronic signature capture device at the counter.. now, how is that a hidden charge??
I work at Dollar/Thrifty ;)

This happened to me a few years ago.
Rented a car, drove it for about a day, topped it off (gas) before returning it and they charged me $34 after the guy plugged the computer in. He didn't even ask me for a receipt.
