During a hearing on the Boxer-Kerry bill held on October 30, 2009, Senator Amy Klobuchar asked John Rowe what incentives he though were necessary to encourage the construction of new nuclear power plants. He answered by first mentioning support for uprates to existing nuclear plants. His company owns and operates 17 existing nuclear plants and is already planning to invest in uprating efforts; any additional government financial support would fall directly to Exelon's bottom line.
