There is no light in sight for this struggling U.S. economy. According to a report by the Commerce Department, economic growth slowed sharply in the spring, only showing a modest 2.4 percent growth. As the U.S. economy is slowing down other countries are passing by. China has officially overcome Japan and become the world's second largest economy. Is the U.S. taking a serious downward turn? RT Correspondent Lauren Lyster explains that the U.S. economy is a result of bad policy and the government isn't doing enough.

  • China has betrayed her hard won Revolution! She was the last bastion of true Communism and I mourn her loss.

  • @pavel280488AA I thought Russians hated Asians.

  • Go USA from China

  • I spoke to a employee of a socialist government employment assistance program in the U.S. called Service Alternatives. He said what he liked about America was quote, "free capital" That means capitalism, right? Also China is getting more capitalist but calling themselves socialist. How are socialists becoming more pro capitalism? also, the same guy criticized the Red Army and the former Soviet Union. Aren't socialists supposed to like the old USSR? What's going on?

  • DEFLATION??????

    muahaahahahahaahahahaha

  • The thing is, the US is neither capitalistic nor free market.

  • @mrjimhoward also Mr Howard, if you had taken a second to revise some econ history, you'd be aware that China's currency is undervalued cos its on the hook to the US currency, a policy that was implemented when Deng opened up China, it was also a policy pushed and backed by the Reagan administration. So please stop trying to blame China's govt and its 'capitalist elite'. As far as I'm concerned, no elite in the history of ever has pulled 300 million people out of TOTAL poverty. Think about that

  • @mrjimhoward As far as I'm concerned, your comment reflects a hegemonic portrayal of contemporary China by the Western media and does not actually reflect the phenomena that China is undergoing today. I suggest you revise information you have about China, contextualise yourself and THEN criticise. Otherwise you're just another person repeating what your so-called Western 'free media' drills into your head about China.
