This video shows how I made a butterfly shadow box. It decorates my craft room and gives me inspiration :). It's not a typical deep shadow box. I just used what I had. If you have any questions let me know.

  • @divoojilly Hi! Thank you so much! I'm so happy to have inspired you! I bet yours will be very pretty too! Have fun! :)

  • Thank you so much Tiki - I got the boxed frame but I cant get my butterflies to stick their wings out like yours. Is there a trick to it?

  • @natpierce2008 Sorry I didn't respond sooner to your question. There's really no trick. I just used a small glue dot on the center of their body then placed them on the cardstock. Next I lightly pinched their wings together. That was it. I used patterned paper that was on the thinner side. So if you're using cardstock their wings might not stay up as well. I hope that helps. If you have any more questions let me know! :)

  • @natpierce2008 Hi! Thank you for your comment! The frame is a Shadow Box frame. So there is a gap between the butterflies and the glass. That way embellishments and layers can be added and not flattened by the glass. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching! :)

  • Hi Tiki - I just love this so much and would love to make for my 2 year old twin girls. I have a question though. How do you apply glass over the butterflies when they are open as wouldnt the glass flatten them? thanks in advance,

  • @jsrcamp It will be really cute as bedroom decor!! Your little ones will love it! The frame is 8 x 6. Thank you so much for your comment! :)

  • @lilylucy2CLT Glittered butterflies are so beautiful! Wow, you cut them out by hand! You're a true BFF! I've had to do that before when I didn't own a punch or die cut. Just make the best of it and save some money too! I bet your card was beautiful and I'm sure she loved it! That paper stack is really pretty! Thank you so much for your comment and sharing with me! :)
