Diesels are dirty, bad for the environment, slow, noisy and Hybrid's are the way to go, blah, blah, blah.

Well, guess what?

Based on the cars we tested...BMW 335d wagon and 535d wagon, you would be 100% wrong.

Quite simply, these are the two best daily drivers we've driven since we've had driver's licenses.

And we've had our licenses for a long time.

The 2008 BMW diesel's that will hit our shores starting this December are, clean, no worse for the environment than a gasoline car sold today, fast, quiet and on balance better than any Hybrid on the market today.

yea that's true. diesel only pollute more NOx but everything else is far less than petrol.

The sportiest diesels I've ever seen. The only noise sounds like a powerful sports car, not a noisy diesel. (Not that I don't like the normal diesel sound, too.)

These diesles emit NO SMELL, and NO rattle rattle. I own a New X5, watch my Video, I start it will recording and if I didnt show the Tach, youd never know its running. If I had unlimited money for gas, Id buy a V8 bmw just for sound, but this diesel is BADASS, I agree, go test drive one

So what if they go farther per gallon? It just means that diesel is more energy dense. Only those obsessed with MPG would be fooled by high MPG ratings. The only thing that matters is total cost.

Who cares what the MPG is? It's meaningless! What matters is cost per distance. BTW, diesel fumes stink!
