Popper Dávid was Hungarian

Such beautiful sound and the second piece, unbelievably fast !
-
Feuermann plays Spinning Song beautifully but much slower. Before I heard this I had thought it a quick tempo.

@merrihew Yes, thanks, and 19 other sides, all but 1 on YT.

There's another Popper composition which also features that 'Theremin-like' sound, but I cannot remember the title. Anyway, those early-1930s Polydors always sounds good.

@1920sbuff already corrected it

What a fabulous cello sound. A very different interpretation from the Feuermann version of the Spinning Song. Much faster, an insane tempo and what octaves! Do you have any more of him? TY

@2ndviolinist Sorry, that's my only one. He made very few records - mostly show off pieces like these.

@merrihew Leave it to you to be the only one to find such a recording and post it to YT. You provide a great service to those with "sensitive" ears. Just recently discovered Hugo Kreisler, now my favorite cellist. Once again a paucity of recordings and nothing serious.

@2ndviolinist You probably found the record I posted of him and his brother.
