Slapstick is one of the hardest modes of comedy to perform. Harry Corbett was a master at it. He's up there with the greats from silent comedy and others, such as Benny Hill, Tommy Cooper, Eric Sykes et al.

I love how you can hear the crew laughing in the background at 2:32!

I defy any child not to be transfixed by this. Up to a certain age, of course! And, probably over 50!

@JimTLonW6 Sadly it's true, I did hate Sooty then! I'd have thought it was only fair comment. There were many other dreadful programmes of that time too! You're welcome of course to comment on my model railway vids, or my beam engine vids, or my wild-life vids, or even my bell ringing vids!
Of course, if you were to post vids of The Clangers now (the best ever prog on the TV)....!

You can be arrested for muffin a mule!!!

I grew up with this, it is good to see it again. I guess these days Sooty would have been diagnosed with ADHD and put on Ritalin and would never have been on TV.

Fantastic, thanks for uploading. Sooty was one of my favourites, in fact the whole family loved Sooty. Used to be on a Sunday evening, I think.

Pure genius. When Sooty says "Who's Muffin?" I completely crack up.
I hated Sooty then and....!

@JimTLonW6 I see you prefer the mechanical world to the cuddly toy. Each to their own, but why bother posting a knocking comment? I don't come round your gaffe criticising your railway vids.
