This is my first video I've taken in 720HD with my new Sany Xacti CG-10. Basically, I took it out of the box, charged the battery, put an SD card in it, attached it to a tripod, turned the camera on, changed the focus mode to macro, placed the camera about 4 feet away from the feeder, composed the shot, and pressed record. Everything, including the audio is straight from the camera, nothing was enhanced.

  • Have you seen a squirrel get flung off of that feeder yet? That's the best.

  • Never... Which sort of stinks. If a big bird gets on it, or two doves, they go for a ride.

  • is this zoomed in?

  • Maybe a little zoom, I don't remember. The camera is very close to the feeder though.

  • Very nice video. How is it for indoor/not well lighted areas?

  • If it's dark, the video is grainy, but that should be no surprise.

  • what type of sd card do you use with this camcorder? how long can you record an hd video with it? thanks

  • Excellent camera, i have the same. I think it has two defects, focusing when zoom, and low sensivity when there is lack of light. If you want a good behaviour in the night, you have to play with ISO and High sensivity setting. After that, it behaves correctly in darkness.

  • Can you tell me how u make this depth of field thing on this cam please

  • @musiecs It's called autofocus, he set the camera to focus=macro so that it would get a good focus of the nearest object, it's a mode made to take pictures of small things adn/or details.

  • amazing footage, it would be worth filming them in slow motion to show the dexterity in which they interact

  • Did you turned off stabilization?

  • Which tripod did you use? I recently got the Sanyo Xacti CG-10 and I want to buy a tripod for it.

  • Dark conditions are not of too much importance to the regular user (camera or camcorder). We mostly only want to take our camera out in nice weather. E.g nice sunny day in the park. I am not going to go to the park in the middle of the ffing night with the camera to bother about its low light performance.

  • it might be a stupid question but how do you blur the backround and not the birdfeeder
